Upsilon Chapter Report AT Still University -SOMA Sigma Sigma Phi – National Convention Orlando, FL

Membership 23 SSP members graduated on May 22, current members Community Health Center campuses across the country Brooklyn, NY Beaufort, SC Milford, OH Portland, OR Seattle, WA Visalia, CA Waianae, HI Washington DC Arizona Flagstaff Mesa Tucson Maintaining membership 2 nd years must maintain 85% GPA No course or clinical clerkship failures Must log at least 20 hours of community service on the chapter website

New Member Induction All 2 nd, 3 rd, and 4 th year students Application: academic honors, leadership, community service, dedication to school/profession, essay Minimum 85% GPA and no course failures/remediation Current members vote – must receive 90% When voting “No” – brief explanation September 2015 membership drive 43 applicants – 39 met academic standards 8 new members inducted on September 12, 2015 Always before residency applications open for 4 th year students Refining instructions on voting Ok to include Class rank Honors in school courses Explain why members vote “Yes”

“Service Week” – Annual Community Service Project Last year: Community Outreach Coordinator at each CHC This year: School-wide community service project with Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) Theme: Serving the homeless SSP and GHHS members from each CHC will decide how to best address the greatest need in their respective communities Examples: homeless care packages, provide health screenings at a shelter, organize a 5k walk/run November 7 -15
