Summary of the presentation What is ENAP? Who is involved? Why do we reduce the duration of AP? © ETSI All rights reserved How does it work? AP will be shorter

What is ENAP? © ETSI All rights reserved An EN is adopted by the application of the EN Approval Procedure (ENAP). ENAP is comprised of a public enquiry and a weighted national vote performed in a single process, named Approval Process (AP) Articles 13.4 and 13.5 of the Rules of Procedure.

Approval Process (AP) e.g AP The NSOs perform the AP (public enquiry and weighted national vote), which currently takes 120 days. The resulting national comments and the national position (vote) are then submitted to the ETSI Secretariat. © ETSI All rights reserved Approval Process Who?Who? Why? How does it work? Shorter duration

Why are we reducing the duration of AP? Industry demands that the ENs be produced in a more timely fashion. Our target is to reduce the time for AP from 120 days to 60 days by As a first step, the time for AP will be reduced to 90 days from 1 st September © ETSI All rights reserved Approval Process Who?Who? Why? How does it work? Shorter duration

How does it work? Until 31 st August 2015 all ENs are sent on an AP that will last 120 days EXAMPLE 1: © ETSI All rights reserved Approval Process Who?Who? Why? How does it work? Shorter duration

As from 1st September 2015 the length of time for AP will be reduced to 90 days. EXAMPLE 2: From 1 st September 2015 © ETSI All rights reserved Approval Process Who?Who? Why? How does it work? Shorter duration

What does it mean in concrete terms? © ETSI All rights reserved The process remains the same, only the time it takes is changing. Approval Process Who?Who? Why? How does it work? Shorter duration
