I will .... 1. Work safely as a condition of my employment and accept responsibility for my own safety. 2. Promote and educate staff in safe work practice. 3. Identify risk before incidents occur. 4. Report all safety incidents immediately. 5. Insist on a total commitment to safe work practice from myself and all team members at all times to ensure the safety for all customers of IRT Greenwell Gardens. 6. Support and educate injured workers at all times to ensure no re injury occurs. 7. Never Sacrifice or compromise safety to perform a task quicker or easier. 8. Recognise, acknowledge and reward safe work habits and behaviours that support IRT's Vision and Values.

SMS messages 3 SMS messages sent via Rosterlive Message Number One As part of IRT Safety Strategy Safety messages will be sent via SMS  to highlight the importance of safety in the workplace. Message Number Two The 1st safety message is: 'Take 2' thinking -  "Is this right, is this safe?" “TAKE TWO” means take 2 minutes to think thru a job before b4 you start.’ Message Number Three 2nd Safety Message – Safety should be your first thought, not an afterthought.

Future Strategies Near Miss Identification - Formulate a strategy (not clumsy or onerous) to report near misses. Investigation of near misses using IRT assessment tool. We would like IRT to develop a simple tool or call in process to capture this information. Internal Training - In-Service on Choice 5 of Covey training - Healthy Living Program to be developed and undertaken. Target staff interested in improving their brain health. Run Covey DVD on Brain Health. Program will include guest speakers including Mental Health, Dietitian, Drug and Alcohol. External Training - 'Programmed' to deliver their safety journey and culture of zero harm to several IRT locations External Training (Interventions for Escalating Behaviours) – sourcing Identifying equipment to reduce risk of injury e.g. Trial equipment including a steam cleaner to reduce bending and twisting when cleaning around and behind toilets. Bidet trial, to reduce bending, twisting when attending toilet hygiene, trial use of Robot Vacuum cleaner for heavy use areas, used overnight under watchful eye of night staff and only in areas where staff are located.
