Characteristics of FET-HE articulation  Often ad hoc and bound to specific institutional arrangements, dependent on individual agreements  Minimal evidence of private FET-HE articulation initiatives  Articulation frequently defined as access or minimal credits given e.g. ECD Level 5 articulation route to UNISA  Older articulation routes no longer exist – N6 - Technikons

Progress update  FETI-HETI Project launched on 20 September 2010  Implementation of project on 12 October 2010  Insurance companies include: Discovery Momentum Old Mutual Sanlam  Negotiation of this project to be included in INSETA’s QCTO process  Mapping NQF Level 5 to 1 st year B. Commerce degree  Ongoing curriculum development

Future priorities  Full implementation by end of 2010  Development of an NQF Level 4 qualification to broaden articulation route  Development of FET-HE model that can be taken up by all universities (public and private) to include FET provision  Investigation of further articulation routes through a partnership approach
