Look at the following animals. Ask yourself what all of the animals have in common? Think about everything you have learned in science. Don’t say it out loud! Look at the following animals. Ask yourself what all of the animals have in common? Think about everything you have learned in science. Don’t say it out loud!

African Elephant

Basking Shark

Desert Tortoise

Florida Panther

Grizzly Bear

Kiwi

Northern Spotted Owl

Shhhh. Don’t say it if you know! Maybe you can figure out what all of these animals have in common after you read the words on the next slides that I found in articles while researching these animals.

Many Threats (dangers)

Conservation Plan (p rotection, preservation, saving)

Vulnerable (weak, defenseless, helpless, in danger, at risk)

Rapid Decline (weaken, deteriorate, drop, wane)

What do all the animals have in common?

Yes! They are all Endangered which means they all could become extinct like the dinosaurs. Imagine you are an endangered animal, how would you feel? What are making these animals endangered? How do you think we can find out?
