LHCb Radiation Shielding Wall – Status Upper Part – Blocks – Installation Procedure Lift up the blocks by the 8 tons crane To slip the blocks Area to fill with small blocks, access from the crane gangway Area to fill with small blocks, access from new metallic structure Picture don’t show the metallic structure already in place at this step of the installation.

LHCb Radiation Shielding Wall – Status Upper Part – Seismic Stability Michael POEHLER (TS/CE): “Pictures show a technical proposition to improve the stability of the shielding wall upper part, however a stability study must be performed in order to find the best solution.” Make a rigid plane where the 5th block layer will be fastened. This rigid plane could by made using the 2nd level of the metallic structure
