Parks and Recreation services are considered essential to our quality of life and valued as vital components to a healthy sense of place.
The Department’s highest priorities in the proposed FY16 budget requests place emphasis on improving the City’s ability to serve ALL residents; adequately funding to sustainably maintain facilities to meet user demands; secure resources to maximize the life of existing park resources and infrastructure.
Implementation of Management Plans: Urban Forestry, Park Asset and Turf Management Replacement of 10 playgrounds Continued research on Conservation lands – for adaptive management Additional programs for recreation – Reach MORE and Let’s Move Initiative Trail construction projects completed – M2L, Grant Creek and Kim Williams East Fort Missoula Regional Park – Phase 1, West 80 acre park is constructed and substantially ready and open for competitive play in the Fall of 2016
