Cell Phone Use By : Danielle McDonald

To see if kids are addicted to their cell phones, we made up five questions for five students to answer. Then we graphed and organized the answers and got our results from the graphs.

Here are the questions I asked…. 1.) Do you send 200 text messages a day? 2.) Can you live without using your cell phone for a day? 3.) Do you have your cell phone with you 24/7? 4.) How many hours to you spend talking on your cell phone? 5.) Do you spend your free time texting or hanging out with friends?

Answers… Four out of the five students send at least 200 text messages a day, Three out of the five students can live without their cell phone for a day, Four out of the five students have their cell phones on them 24/7, Four out of the five students spend 1-2hrs talking on the phone and four out of the five students would rather hangout with their friends then send text messages.

Graphs…

Summary… Out of the five students that I surveyed, they seem to have their phone with them at all times no matter what. They seem to be using it a lot! The majority of the students seem to send at least 200 text messages. Four out of the five students said that they spend most of their free time hanging out with friends. Not all kids are completely addicted to their phone! Some students, believe it or not, can live without their phone for a day. Don’t worry, it surprised me too. Lastly, Most of the students do carry their phone on them 24/7. So they can always been in touch with their friends.

Conclusion… For my conclusion I did find out that some kids are actually addicted to their cell phones. Not all kids are addicted but the majority of them are. Some Kids seem to have them with them all the time no matter what. If they don’t, they feel disconnected from their friends and the latest gossip. Some kids can handle not having their phone on them all the time. Most kids can only last a couple hours with their phone. Most of the teens today have their cell phone on them 24/7. As I conclude, most kids are addicted to their phone but not all of them are!
