About the enquiry We made an enquiry form to parents and underlayed it in parents evening The questions were about childrens wellfare and parents attitudes towards disparity In this summary we focus on the parents attitudes We send the enquiry to the main schools parents grades – Mainstream classes: 1-3 and 4-6 – Special classes: Pre-3, 4-6 and 7-9 – response rate was 64%

How do you experience childrens disparity: as an asset, challenge or something else * 84% experience as an asset* 86% as an asset - Understanding - understanding and tolerating - respecting- respecting- Taking care of everyone - Cooperation together * 16% as an challenge* 14% as an challenge - increases bulling - negative influence on working atmosphere 50% of parents think that disparity envolves childrens mind and makes them more cooperative ” Children learn to appreciate disparity and notice that we are all individuals and equal. That way you don´t evolve any negative attitudes towards disparity.” Question Mainstream classesSpecial classes

How does your child experience different kind of children in the school? * 84% experiences are neutral and * Parents and students are mainly positive satisfied - few feel that their children are bullied - some don´t understand others disparity and are a bit afraid of openess of older students * 10% experiences - fear a bit special students eating habits - special students have more priviledges - special students are bullied ” My child likes that children are different. How do you experience our comprehensive schools atmosphere? * 98% gives posittive feedback* 1-2% feels that the atmosphere could be abit better Atmosphere is- open - warm, equal and supportive - nice and relaxing - peacefull and safe - all students cooperate well together - all have the same goal - professional Question Mainstream classesSpecial classes

Conclusions Parents are very satisfied with the general atmosphere at the school- child is happy and feels secure. None of the responces were negative or affensive. Satisfaction is on solid base.
