Purpose of Meeting Invite neighbors to describe their concerns to gauge impacts Hear suggestions for potential strategies to best address major community concerns

Adelaide Stairs The City of Santa Monica has no jurisdiction over the Adelaide Stairs. The stairs are within the jurisdiction of the City of Los Angeles.

Neighborhood Impacts

City Municipal Code Use of median planting strips. It shall be unlawful to use the median planting strips for anything but jogging or walking. All other activities are strictly prohibited. (Prior code § 4500; added by Ord. No. 842CCS, adopted 9/22/70)

Survey Results 3a.Would you support a new local property assessment in the immediate area to cover the cost of replanting affected medians? Yes – 9% No – 25% NR – 66%

Next Steps City staff will analyze all information provided and make recommendations to City Manager City Manager will make a decision on any further/future city action City staff will report decision back to the community at a second meeting, January 8, 2009 at 6:30 in the Multipurpose Room of the Santa Monica Main Library.
