The European Qualifications Framework European reference system that helps linking national qualification systems to each other Facilitation of learners and workers mobility within Europe Comparability and transparency of qualifications for individuals, employers and training providers Lifelong-learning instrument that covers general and adult education, vocational education and training and higher education 2012 all certificates should bear a reference to its EQF level

Learning outcome orientation of EQF EQF defines 8 levels in terms of learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, competences) that are attainable through variety of education and/or career paths This shift to learning outcomes intends to: support a better match between needs of the labour market and education and training provision facilitate the validation of non-formal and informal learning facilitate the transfer and use of qualifications across different countries and education and training systems.
