Millions of miles of powerlines already in place. Reach people left out by cable and telephone companies. BPL improves efficiency to power companies with interactivity. Utilities can quickly identify where outages have taken place, read meters remotely, and conduct preventive maintenance.

Performance of 10 teraflops and peak of 17 teraflops January 2004, rank its as the 3 rd fastest supercomputer in the world.
