Purpose Calculation of decision making time during air traffic control. Tasks to analyze and investigate current decision making process; to analyze and investigate influence of SHELL model as decision making factor; to investigate decision making time among ATC-students; to evaluate received results. 2

For my experiment I developed some exercises for investigation the real time of finding potentially conflict situations and decision making in conditions of its situation among ATC- students. Also were created situations without conflicts for training the ability to analyze the situation in air traffic zone and to solve conflict situations without changing of flight level, directions of flight and speed of non-conflict aircraft. Experimental investigation was carried out in period from to among students-ATC of forth and fifth course. 30 students were queried. The results are given in diagrams. 4

Conclusions The average decision making time was from 22,6 to 80,1 seconds in different situations. It depends on the type of conflict situation. The situation on crossing routes with very small vertical speed was the most difficult and the time varies from 37 to 120 seconds. The another situations with two aircraft on the same flight level were the simplest and the time varies from 17 to 53 seconds and from 19 to 27 seconds. 14

It’s recommended to use received results for further creation the program of decision making support. Also these results can be used for: Investigation of air traffic controller workload Time assessment of air traffic controller actions quality 15
