Why Do We Have Two Hour Delays?

Sometimes at my school there are two hour delays.

Reasons for a Two Hour Delay There are three reasons for a two hour delay. 1.There is bad weather and the buses can’t get all the students to school on time..Or, it is just too cold to wait for a school bus!

2.There is another reason the buses can’t pick up the kids on time. There may be an accident and then cars get stuck in traffic!

3.Or teachers are scheduled to go to meetings or get some work done.

On 2 hour delay days…. Students come to school 2 hours LATER than usual. If school starts at 9:00 students come at 11:00. My school starts at ______ so 2 hours later I would come at _____. I just add!

On 2 hour delay days… Some students sleep in late

On 2 hour delay days… Some students get up and watch T.V. or play for awhile.

On 2 hour delay days ….. Some students do their homework.

What is Difficult? On 2 hour delay days there is one thing that is difficult. The schedule gets changed a lot!

For example? Instead of having Language Arts in the morning and then lunch and recess, sometimes lunch starts shortly after you get to school!!

Everything Changes! Everything changes on 2 hour delay days! It feels like your head is spinning!

It’s OK, you can stop being dizzy! You can know about the changes when you: –L–Look at your schedule! –A–Ask an adult! 2 hour delay days are easy..when you know what to expect! Then YOU ARE PREPARED!

Remember There are 2 hour delays when the weather is bad, or buses can’t get students on time. There are 2 hour delays when teachers have meetings or work.

Remember Schedules change but that’s OK. Check your schedule or ask an adult then YOU ARE PREPARED!
