North America This is where we live!!

North America  It shares two large countries – Mexico and Canada.  It is located above the equator.  It includes many different cultures.  It has a variety of foods (Mexican, French, Italian, etc.)

North America North America is the third largest continent.

South America Below North America.

South America There are nuts, bananas, and chocolate. The world’s largest rain forest is in South America. It is the Amazon Rain Forest. It has the second longest river on earth. It’s the Amazon River. In South America, soccer is called futbal.

South America More than 300 million people live in South America. Angel Falls is the highest waterfall in the world.

Asia

Asia is the largest continent on earth. Close to 4 billion people live in Asia. Hundreds of kind of dinosaurs have been discovered on the continent of Asia. It contains the highest point of the earth – Mt. Everest.

Asia The area of Asia is larger than the land area of the moon. If all of the people in Asia held hands they would reach around the equator more than 100 times.

Australia  Australia is called “The land down under” because it is below the equator.  The weather in Australia is warm and pleasant.  The Tasmanian devil lives in Australia.  The average Australian eats 165,000 eggs in their life.

Africa Africa is the most tropical of all continents. The longest river in the world is located in Africa.

Antarctica

Antarctica Antarctica has polar bears. Antarctica has lots of snow. Most of Antarctica is covered by ice. Antarctica has penguins.

Europe

Europe Europe is the second smallest continent. The favorite sport in Europe is Rugby. Paris is the largest city. In middle ages they had a plague called Black Death. It was caused by a flea.

These seven continents make up our world! Now we know where in the world we are and who our neighbors are!
