2 Re- Org Goals Better align City Government with the interest of it’s stakeholders. Direct attention and resources to the Mayor’s top priorities. Position City Government for “ New” economic reality in FY 13 and forward. Rename departments and divisions to better reflect the department mission. Clarify roles and primary responsibilities. Simplify to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

10 Action Steps Organize recommendations and prepare for decisions Fill positions when candidates are identified Task each department and division to submit operational review by January 31, Each department is to then submit suggested cost reductions of 15%. (through right sizing, innovation, contract negotiation, privatization) Incorporate suggested savings into FY 2013 budget. Prepare specific measurements of governmental effectiveness ( ex- Baltimore type “ STAT” Board); begin measurement and benchmark on January 1, 2012
