Culture Brazilian culture is very diverse. An ethnic and cultural mixing occurred in the colonial period between native Americans, Portuguese, and Africans. The core culture of Brazil came from Portuguese culture because of strong colonial ties with the Portuguese empire.

Tourist Attractions Sao Paulo is the most visited city in Brazil for foreign tourists on business trips. Rio de Janeiro is the most visited city in Brazil for foreign tourists. The Amazon Rainforest is also a popular tourist attraction.

History From the th centuries, Brazil was a colony of Portugal. On September 7 th, 1822, the country declared its independence from Portugal and became a constitutional monarchy, the Empire of Brazil. The land now called Brazil, was first discovered by Vicente Yanez Pinzon.

Geography/Topography Brazil is the 5 th largest country in the world. The Amazon River system carries more water to the ocean than any other river system in the world. The Brazilian highlands and plateaus average less than 4,000 feet but the highest point in Brazil is Pico de Neblina at 9,888 feet.
