The recycled wood is one of the materials that needs most care and it has to be harness in a ecological home. Tables, chairs, magazine racks and even lamps made of this material may be found in the catalogs from department stores and specialty shops in the furniture industry.

The ecological design competition organized by the specialized website Inhabitat awards the best ideas of design made with reusable materials. The winner of this competition in 2009 is a work by Brazilian Rodrigo Jaroseski, a coffee table that has been made with old phone books, a good way to keep the paper alive in the Internet age.
