EAST Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program Applications DUE: April 30, Eligibility: The EAST fellowship program provides stipends to undergraduate students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, or considering STEM careers, to conduct research with a research supervisor for 8 weeks during the summer. Students who will conduct research at institutions in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island are eligible to apply. Students must be in good standing in their major field of study. Stipend: Selected Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURFs) provide a $3000 student stipend plus up to $500 for materials and supplies. EAST will award Undergraduate Research Fellowships to students with disabilities and to others who support increased participation of students with disabilities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics

EXAM II DATE CHANGED

DERMATOFIBROSARCOMA PROTUBERANS

This is one example of cell-cell communication covered in Chapter 8.

DERMATOFIBROSARCOMA PROTUBERANS

Chapter 8 is on Cell-Cell Interactions Half is about communication between by signaling factors like PDGF and the PDGF receptor.

Chapter 8 is on Cell-Cell Interactions The first half is about cell contact (cells touching other cells). This includes: If the cell membrane is so wimpy, why don’t cells fly apart? Plants have a cell wall Bacteria have a cell wall Animals have an extracellular matrix = ECM
