1 st Semester Portfolio By: Darius Humphery Drawing & Painting 4 th Period

This artwork was part of the Elements & Principles drawing project. This project consisted of focusing on the basics, elements and principles. This was the first project I had created this semester.

In this close-up, I displayed a strong emphasis of lines, color, shape, and pattern.

This was a process picture I created to practice the effect that shadows create on objects.

This was the Still Life Fruit & Veggies Drawing Project I created. This project focused on the effects of shadows against light.

In this close-up, I displayed emphasis on the effect of the light contouring the objects.

This is a process picture a created while following a video. This video had shown different processes of how to create a hand.

This was another process for the Handscape project. Here, I had drawn my hand as it was resting on the table. I focus on the shape of the hand and its light source.

This Handscape process picture displays the hand, with a background, holding an object.

This, my Handscape Project, was a successful artwork. I had a sort of surrealist idea as I created this artwork. Even though unfinished, I created a nice display of a hand.

This close-up is of the Handscape project. I aimed toward having a light source and the characteristics of a realistic, and surrealistic, hand.

This is a process picture for the Eye Fear project. Here, I was to choose a fear I had.

Here, I focused on creating a sketch of an eye with eyelashes, an iris, etc.

This is a picture of my final Eye Fear Project. In this artwork, I wanted to display the characteristics of a realistic eye. I aimed towards that by creating what an modern eye would consist of(Eyelashes, eyelids, tear duct, eyeball, iris, pupil, etc). While the fear inside the eye was the finishing touch, I wanted the eyeball to,also, have a light source.

This was a process of abstract artwork I created in my sketchbook.

I wanted to focus on illusion, shape, and texture as I created this sketch using three colors; black, white, and blue.

Here is a picture of my Final Abstract Artwork.

In this close-up, I wanted to display my attempt of the changing of hue. Here, I started from red and worked toward the lighter color of yellow.
