Stadium still has a debt of 48 million euros to the bank. The debt will remain for two decades. Top north of the stadium is not finished yet. It was to be a shopping center with a gym, but the idea never got off the paper. The municipality tries to organize events at the stadium to try to bear the costs

The city already had a stadium which meets the population's needs, but needed little renovation. When they built the new stadium, they did not think the long-term costs, but thought the short-term costs (EURO 2004). The stadium has very high costs for what is a small town. The city did not need a big stadium, because it has financial capacity to pay.

THE QUESTION WE ALL DO  What possible solutions to the stadium?

 The start of the sporting activity in University Stadium of Coimbra (EUC) took place on 13 February Its mission is to provide the performance of physical activities to the university community, primarily, but also the community at large, either by providing premises or by the organization of sports activities, recreation and leisure. Every year the EUC has about 400,000 uses.  Since its founding the EUC maintains a close relationship with the Academic Association. Hosts 18 of his sports sections and over 2000 athletes, thus contributing to their sporting success. The Associação Académica de Coimbra is the third consecutive time European Champion University Sports.  The EUC also hosts the premises of the Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, University of Coimbra, about 600 undergraduate students, and about 400 students in master's and doctorate.

This Stadium starts with a football field and athletics track, a sports hall dedicated to hockey skates and physical training, one rugby pitch and a side football pitch (on clay). Then the following constructions:  Sports hall 2 + gym dedicated to physical training + tennis courts  Sports hall 3 + canteen  Fitness circuits + small basketball courts dedicated to leisure  Remodeling of the tennis courts (which had already been abandoned)

Remodelation and constrution plans over the years

 installations taken to the extreme  few conditions to teach the college students and provide training to athletes  there is no annual or monthly plan to make renovations  difficulties are raised but never resolved gambling interests

 The Coimbra University Stadium will be renovated by the fact that in 2018 the EUSA Games are in Coimbra, where the EUC will be the main venue of the European Games. Will not only refurbished to the EusaGames in 2018, but in order that the Games leave a legacy, in order that may be works that are useful for the future and are used by students. Create the best conditions for that college athletes can train in view of the increased use of the stadium before the students a more active form, thereby building strategies to become more attractive students can practice physical activity inside the stadium
