CHANGE.ORG This is a website where people can start petitions about things that they feel need to be changed! READ the sample letters attached. Annotate their key points. What is the THESIS in each? What does each author say the audience should do? Remember, your THESIS needs to not only define a problem, but also propose a solution!

Visual Requirement: as part of your amazing speech, you will create an advertisement-like visual to help persuade your audience. WHAT DOES SHE MEAN!?! Don’t worry; it’s easy! You need to use ethos, logos, and pathos in your visual; we will go over some examples!

ETHOS: this is the tricky persuasive appeal. With ETHOS, you appeal to your audience by proving that you are credible (believable/trustworthy). Sometimes, we cite experts in the field when we are not experts ourselves. But for this speech, you want to really prove to your audience that YOU are the expert. As a result, you will actually go out and DO SOMETHING related to your issue. Some options are as follows: conduct a survey; interview an expert; volunteer time for a related organization
