The North & Their Inventions The North Promoted Inventions because they invested in factories and manufacturing (they made stuff) The inventions that the North came up with helped them increase the productivity in factories (they could make a lot more stuff!)

Example Inventions: Steamboat – Transportation Clipper Ship – Transportation Steam Locomotives – Transportation Telegraph – Communication Steel Tipped Plow – Farming Sewing Machine – Manufacturing

Discovering Inventions In your textbook you will discover some inventions. You will select 3 and create one yourself (your own invention. You will create an advertisement to promote each invention. You favorite teacher (me) will provide some construction paper.

What your inventions will include! 1.Explain 3 reasons why the consumer would need the new product. How will it change your life Does it solve a problem, fulfill a need, make life easier? How would it be used? Advantages for buying the product?

Describe the Invention 2.Describe the Invention: Who was the inventor Describe its features – what is it made of? How big is it? How fast is it? How durable (will it break easy), How convenient? Easy to use? Is it affordable?

Draw A Picture Draw a picture of your invention make it For each invention create a “jingle.” –Example: (“Don’t toil with the soil, use my super plow.”)
