By the end of the workshop you will be able to: To create a project To create a translation memory To export a file for external review and update it from external review To translate a single document To add different translation memories( machine translation as an example)
Click here to start a new a project
You can click home then new project
Click here ad then click on next
In order to use a past project click on create a project based on previous project
Name the project Click allow source editing button then click next
Choose a source language and a target language Click next choosing Iraqi Arabic or Saudi Arabic does not make any difference.
Click on add files and add the file called healthy lifestyle Once you click add files choose a.document for translation. Locate the file and click open
You add as many translation memories as you for example Google or SDL automated translation
Click on create and choose new file based memory Can you tell the difference between new file based and new server based memories?
Once complete click next
Click on next
Click on finish
Click on close to complete the creation of the Translation Memory
You can click add to add a term base using Excel or termbases or term manager Trados will not allow us to update term bases unless we buy Trados multi term 2014
Click on next
Click on finish
To open the project double click on the project
Again double click on the file
Click confirm once you are done with translating each segment
You can the segment setting
If you lock a segment you will not be able to edit it anymore.
You can split the segment by using this command
Click export for an external review
Click next
It is not important to open the folder but you have to do it in order to remember the location
So here is the file
After editing your document you can update it from external review but you have to remember the location
Click save as
Save as a word document + Encoding Arabic
Click the translate single document command
You can add as many translation memory as you can. You can add Google translate or SDL automated translated
Click next
Do not change any default Click next
Click close to finalize your new translation memory
Click OK
Here you can see formats that Trados can deal with. For PDF the result is far from satisfying

Here you can preview the document
Here you can add a term base using Excel, termflow or term manager Add it then click OK
You can use these buttons to copy segments from source to target
Here you can check the quality of your translation Click review then quality assurance
You can use lookup translation to search in your translation memories
Now you can save the file as (then choose whatever format you want)
Now you can see the file
