Top 5Best Planes of WWII

Have you ever wondered how we won WWII. We did it with planes. Dropping bombs and carrying torpedoes it was the fastest way to win the war. I picked these based on speed, firepower and use in war effort. These are the planes of WWII.

The SBD Dauntless The Dauntless is a dive bomber used in the Navy. This plane usually launched off the USS Enterprise. Using bombs to wound and sink ships. With 6 machine guns mounted on the wings and in the nose they can take down other planes In an instant. These are really power full planes and should never be charged straight on.

The B-17 Flying Fortress The Flying Fortress is a plane with over 10 machine guns. Dropping bombs this means it’s slow. It is easy to take down but once it gets to its target there is no stopping it from pulverizing the enemy.

The B-29 Super Fortress The super fortress is a strategic bomber. These planes won the war they dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Like its sister the B-17 it has machine guns. These are some of the most powerful planes of WWII.

The P-38 Lightning With 2 machine guns on the nose this plane was nothing to mess around with. The Luftwaffe(German Air Force) named it the “Forked Tailed Devil”. The Japanese named it “ two planes one pilot”. This plane was used for recon., dive bombing, level bombing, stealth missions and night fighting. I wouldn’t want to mess around with that thing.

Corsair With folding wings this plane was great o a crowded aircraft carrier. This plane has at the least 4 machine guns on the nose and wings. This plane is capable of dropping bombs too. This making it a hard plane to tussle with.

So take some time and appreciate the people and planes that helped keep this country.
