Presentation transcript:

Warm Up 1. Can you remember what life was like when you were in elementary school? Recall what music was popular? What clothes you wore? Etc. 2. Do you believe that many of these things are still popular today? Why or why not After 5 minutes, you will “turn and talk” to discuss your answers.

While something’s you enjoyed in 2010 may still be relevant, many things aren’t. Time is always changing, technology is becoming more advanced, trends are evolving. Example: Think about how much different the iphone 6s is than the iphone 3!!!! This idea was also true during the Neolithic Age.

Academic Vocabulary Word of the Day Formulate- Who can define this word for us? Who can use this word in a sentence for us?

Reminders….  Open notebook test will be THURSDAY. Spend some time at home organizing yourself so you are prepared.  We will be starting a project later today, so be sure to PAY ATTENTION, as 2 grades are upcoming this week (Test, Project)

Objective: Students will be able to understand how the Neolithic Revolution came to an end.

The most important theme to take away from this time period is that everyday technology was changing. Farming techniques started advancing, and people started to play different roles in society.

Toolmakers began to come up with new methods for farming. Millstone- Used to grind wheat and other grains

Farming allowed for people to establish economic activity Why were they able to do this? How does economics relate to farming? *An economy deals with the making, buying, and selling of goods or services

Workers began utilizing metals such as copper and tin to create tools and weapons. What do you think was a benefit of working with metal? (turn and talk)

Answer-Easier to make, and use than stone.

One of the biggest turning points of the Neolithic Age was the discovery of Bronze (created by mixing copper and tin).

Advertisement Project!! Since we have reached the end of the Neolithic Age, we will be undertaking a group-advertising project. The goal of the advertisement is to convince people to go the Neolithic way Let me distribute the instructions, and break students up into groups. You will be given the rest of the period and all of next period to work on your projects.

Homework Keep brainstorming ideas for this project, once its completed we will take a vote on which advertisement is the most enticing. Whichever group wins, will receive a prize!
