Welcome to my e- portfolio on Introduction to Engineering Design! My name is Amber and I am a student at Doshi STEM Institute in Syosset, New York. About Me & IED Table of Content Curriculum Work

Amber Salim About Me: I grew up in Long Island, NY and have been living here since I was born. I have went to Californa Aveune School, and then to Turtle Hook Middle School. Now, in high school I attend Uniondale High School, where I started BOCES in 9 th grade continuing to the 10 th grade. About IED: This course will help give definition to my engineering path, and will give me a good start to engineering. Not only does it provide a good start, but will give me a chance to try out different fields in just one space. Home

Unit 1 -- Design Process  Sketching Warmup Sketching Warmup  Design Brief Design Brief  Design Innovation Design Innovation Home

Sketching Warmup Home The assignment was to copy the shown figures. I learned that sometimes going one square/line at a time pays off. I could improve on my circles, and some of my diagonals.

Design Brief Home The assignment was to copy the notes so that we could learn to design brief. I learned how to write a design brief. I can improve on my idea around design briefs.

Design Innovation Home The design innovation was a series of questions that was done in group work. I learned the difference between invention and innovation. I can improve on my answers more.

Unit 2 -- Technical Sketching and Drawing  Isometric Sketching Isometric Sketching  Multiview Sketching Multiview Sketching  Instant Challenge Instant Challenge Home

Isometric Sketching Home The isometric sketching was about how to draw isometric views, which is used on a different type of graphing paper. I learned how to draw in a isometric view. I can improve on my drawings more.

Multiview Sketching Home The multiview sketching was about the different types of views on a 3D object. I learned the different views such as front, bottom, and side. I can improve on my sketches.

Instant Challenge Home This instant challenge was to create something that helps with a normal item with cleaning. I learned to think for myself. I could improve on making it look more efficient.

Unit 3 – Measurement  Metric Measurement Metric Measurement  Dimensioning Dimensioning Home

Metric Measurement Home The metric measurement worksheet was to measure the sides and then do it in both inches and centimeters. It helped me further increase my knowledge in measuring. I could do better at my measuring.

Dimensioning Home Dimensioning had rules and we were given a worksheet to fill out. There are certain areas where you show the height, width, and depth. I can improve on this by learning all the rules by memory.
