How did Hellenistic culture develop? Talk to your Neighbor How did Hellenistic culture develop? As Alexander conquered different peoples, he left Greeks in charge so the Greek language spread. Along with the language, culture also spread. This was combined with the culture of the people being conquered (Indian, Persian, Egyptian). Trade increased and also contributed to the spread of the culture.
