Science Units : rocks; erosion and weather, plants, ecology, light and sound ** Students will experience hands-on experiments and interesting demonstrations to learn the concepts in these areas. **

Social Studies The third grade curriculum is based on communities and how they work. Students will learn how people work together, how the government of the U.S. functions, the histories of different communities, and various cultures around the world. They will also learn map skills.

Homework Every Thursday afternoon, students will receive a Homework Assignment Sheet that will list the weekly reading vocabulary words, spelling list words, and short assignments to be turned in on the following Wednesday. Additional math homework will often be attached. Reading for 15 minutes 4 nights a week. 2/1/201611

Morning Recess Snack Third Grade Recess is from 10 to 10:20. Your child is encouraged to bring a healthy snack to eat at this time. 2/1/201612
