What is faced by the leprosy victims in the society?

Purpose Reasoning for Title Choice To show how leprosy has changed the society. To show what kind of thinking the people had on leprosy. Purpose of Article To tell the people that we should also show care and concern to leprosy victims. We should not avoid people who have leprosy.

List of Interview Questions What would you do if your family members have leprosy? Would you choose to befriend people who have leprosy or you choose to avoid them? If there is an organisation which helps leprosy victims, would you join to help them? What would you do if you have leprosy? Would you choose to work with leprosy victims?

How would show your concern for leprosy victims? Do you think that these leprosy victims should be left out from the society? Do you fear them? How do you think they might feel if they were left out from their friends? Why society do not want to befriend them?

Why people are afraid to be associated with leprosy victims? What the society do to help these people? Where do these people work? Which job would these leprosy victims prefer to have? Why are they being avoided?

Interview

3 Difficulties The interviewee do not have a strong background about the topic. They do not have enough time for the interview. The interviewee might not feel comfortable about having to talk about leprosy.

2 things learnt During this period of time, I have learnt more about leprosy through the research and the interview. I manage to find out what the society feel towards leprosy victims, and why people try to avoid them.

1 thing in the future I would tell others that we should spare some thoughts for people who contracted diseases because they are still humans and they still need our concern and care. I would also encourage people to volunteer their help to those who are in need, or also help out organizations that help those needy people. When we are confronted by these victims, we should extend a 'helping' hand to them whenever they are in need instead of avoiding them.
