Learning Objectives Communities of Practice provide a low risk, low cost forum for sharing ideas and developing people. COPs develop out of needs from CII members, research, and initiatives, providing an ever-expanding exchange of current industry topics and ideas. COPs act as an accelerator into other CII areas by providing exposure and future opportunities for engagement

4 What are Communities of Practice? Groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic and who deepen their understanding and knowledge of this area by interacting on an ongoing basis. Etienne Wenger et al, 2002
