March 2013 Updates: Lots of Games together!
The girls enjoyed a lot of time drawing together or next to each other
A homemade game: “Ball in the hole” – Quite challenging!
Another homemade game: A “city” made from masking tape. The girls loved it!
The “city” game promoted a lot of communication. Alma has been increasingly more interested in writing, so Hahgoot played teacher and Alma “wrote” on strips of paper. The first time Hahgoot failed her, as she did only little lines and no actual letters. When Alma burst into tears I explained to Hahgoot she needs to reward Alma’s effort and not the actual product, as it will take time until she can really write. After that, they were good again and full of motivation.
The girls spent a lot of time making up their own games; even Misty got involved!
A pretend play of “remote control car” turned into a “catch the string” with Misty...
The girls wanted to play on the trampoline, which was full of leaves, so they had to brain-storm a way to clean it together.
The girls enjoyed helping with the little garden, especially if water is involved.
After working hard on their chores for a few weeks, the girls saved enough money to buy together an electronic organ. They were thrilled to count the money and get the toy!
The device came without batteries so after assembly they just pretended and were very theatrical...
When I did put the batteries in we discovered it is very loud (though you can modify the sound once it is open) and Hahgoot reacted very badly to the shock of the sound. She became quite aggressive and started screaming. I was very strict with her that she has to allow Alma to play with it, but she can wear her earphones and wait till the sound is adjusted. Alma, on the other hand, was instructed she has to give Hahgoot warning before opening. When Hahgoot calmed down, she found out she quite likes to play.
