Generalized Anxiety Disorder-GAD What is life like with anxiety disorder?

What is it? When someone has extreme fears of real or imaginary situations that get in the way of normal activities.

What symptoms do people experience? They cause anxiety, nervousness, worry, dread, fear. Heart palpatations Difficulty catching breath sweating Anxiety occurs often and is out of proportion with the situation. Anxiety disorders affect a person’s daily life.

What treatment is available? Therapy- teaches a person how to change thoughts, deal with and manage stress, as well as relaxation exercises. Medication may be prescribed
