Announcements New tenure-track faculty lines Five to ten lines will be available Requests for new lines will be due in Spring 2012 Advertising for new lines can start late Summer/early Fall 2012 Professional Development for Department Chairs ACE Fellow, Dr. Shirley Quarles, will meet with Council of Chairs in January 2012 to gain insight into the professional development needs of chairs. Provost will work with Dr. Quarles to design a series of sessions to help chairs strengthen core leadership skills. Target date for first session is late Spring 2012.

Announcements Changes in Academic Administration Effective December 01, the following offices report to Associate Provost Patty Francis on a temporary basis (18 months or less). Office of the Registrar Office of Continuing Education/Summer Session Office of International Education Center for Social Responsibility and Community CADE The Art Gallery Director now reports to the Dean Behavioral and Applied Science (effective December 01).

Updates Reminder – please complete SUNY-wide COACHE (Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education) survey Listening Sessions – last sessions scheduled for January 2012 Restructuring Update Provost to complete listening sessions January 2012 Provost to review results of Senate survey Provost will engage consultant in Spring 2012 to review the structure of Academic Affairs (administrative offices and divisions) and make recommendations as to appropriate staffing, reporting lines, and student services alignment.
