Create, Collaborate, and Celebrate – A simple formula for student giving success!

H istory – Where have you been? E veryone on board – Are the right people at the table? L et go - Students need to own it! P lan – Where do you want to be?

History Senior giving program had been experiencing a drop in participation and a lack of interest from the students. (20% student participation rate the previous year) Alumni relations took over project to gain more direct access to the students, while taking a different approach to better incorporate the senior giving into senior activities and the overall alumni education process.

Let Go Met with student officers to discuss overall goals and time line Students wrote lyrics, shot footage, and produced a short video, 5 Dollar Revolution, to premiere at the Senior Forum meeting (250 seniors in attendance).5 Dollar Revolution Note: Senior officers gave their $5 gifts to the President to kick-off the Senior Class Gift.

Let Go Student officers met with the President to develop a challenge. If class reached 50% participation (the highest ever at Nazareth), President agreed to a dance-off at graduation rehearsal. Student officers developed another short video of the President issuing the challenge and talking smack to raise awareness and participation.President issuing the challenge

The Plan The “Gimme 5” campaign encouraged seniors to donate $5. Students were offered the ability to donate online for the first time ever. Students were also given the option to restrict their gift, an alternative not available in the past.

The Plan Developed a Gimme 5 mark and each senior was given a t-shirt after making a gift and recognized on the online honor roll.

The Plan Used text blast tool to collect cell phone data and sent updates and reminders. (Collected 280 numbers)

The Plan Posted a barometer at all events and kept in visible location throughout end-of-year senior activities.

Results The class set Nazareth College records for: Senior forum attendance (250) Commencement fair attendance (321) Class participation in the senior gift (252 students or 50%) Collection of 280 cell phone numbers

Results Collaborative effort, which led to a more invested community throughout the process. Laid a foundation for the importance of giving and alumni involvement in a positive and successful light. Students owned it and had fun!

President had to dance-off and referenced it in his commencement address!
