The Importance of Being Earnest Page 1: Lady Bracknell says that Gwendolen cannot marry Jack because Jack has no idea who his parents were. He was found by a man in a cloakroom. Miss Prism is Cecily’s tutor. Jack is in charge of taking care of Cecily. Both Cecily and Miss Prism believe that Jack as a brother named Ernest.
