Reasons for choosing this theme 1. Today the USA play an important role in economic, political and cultural life of the world 2. Many countries with transition economy try to simulate this American economic system 3. Today Russia faces the problem of choosing its way of future economic development and many economists are inclined to think that it should be an American one

Main Tasks 1. To study the history of American economy and to learn some new facts about it 2. To make conclusions about advantages and disadvantages of American economic system 3. To find out what lessons our government should have from the USA’s mistakes

Advantages of the USA’s economy Among the international supermonopolies most of all American With the help of tax privileges and the credit it encourages growth of the newest industries The USA take priority in productivity of labour and in the majority of the high technology manufactures

Sphere of services A very great development was achieved in the sphere of non-material manufacturing and services which nowadays concentrate 2/3 of all industries.

Disadvantages of American Economy Current international trade developments in areas such as foreign competitiveness and import/export policies have posed tough problems for the United States’ economy. Economic developments on the domestic front also create challenges for U.S. business and industry. One serious problem that hampers economic growth domestically is the enormous federal budget deficit.

What can Russia take? Features of the USA’s economy that can be taken at formation of Russian economic model: 1. Prevalence of small and average business in system of free business 2. All-round encouragement of enterprise activity 3. Two independent branches of social security: state and private 4. An active role of the state in economy.

Conclusion Today American economy is really good, but not perfect Russia can take some distinctive features of American economy at formation of its economic model Economists don’t believe in success of the USA in economy in the nearest future.
