Presentation transcript:

 The wireless module must sustain a transmission rate that allows for image data to be transferred in real-time.  The camera must be able to capture VGA image data (640x480) at 30 fps.  The JPEG encoder must be able to compress the image data real-time to meet transmission requirements.  The microcontroller must support serial interfaces for the autopilot, wireless module, camera, and JPEG encoder.

 Goal: Provide high data rate transmission in long range application  Xbee RF module provides up to one mile range at 250 kbps maximum data rate.  3.3 Volt CMOS UART interface  Sleep mode for extending the battery life

 Goal: Provide at a minimum 15 fps and output a VGA signal  Toshiba CMOS camera module can capture up to 30 fps. Uses an SPI interface to output data.  640x480 resolution

 Image compression required to meet RF module data rate requirements.  Analog devices ADV212 JPEG encoder alleviates the need to implement encoding on the microcontroller.

 Microcontroller required to store data image to send to the RF device  64kB SRAM  66 Mhz  Provides I/O to interface with other components
