E-ink

Whait is "E-ink" ? E-ink is a kind of display technology. It can show almost the same effect as the real ink on paper which won't make people tired on reading as the other electronic display techonology such as LCD.

How it works? Electronic ink is made up of millions of tiny microcapsules, about the diameter of a human hair. Each microcapsule contains positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid. When a positive or negative electric field is applied, corresponding particles move to the top of the microcapsule where they become visible to the viewer. This makes the surface appear white or black at that spot.

Advantages Saving Energy.(Device almost needn't any energy when the content completely show up. Easy on the eyes.Similar effect as the real book Easy to read outdoors, the more light the better. Very crisp and sharp

Disadvantages Only can show black, white and gray in the screen.(Colorful e-ink have already been invented, however this techlology still can't be put in the market.) Only can show picture and the text. Most products can't be read in the dark.(Kindle has already solved this problem.)

Who will benefit from "E-ink"? Students.Students don't need thick text books any more.An e-book with e-ink can take place of the real book and won't have bad influence on students' eyes as the other display technology as LCD. Bus company.Making bus stop with e-ink on it can notice passnger the exact time of bus' arriving. When bus route changes, the company needn't to send people rebuild a whole new stop but only change the code of displaying.Compared with the most electronic screen of the bus stop now,e-ink bus stop will save much energy because whenever the content has already been shown up. Readers.As we all know,LCD screen will make people eyes tired easily compared with the real book.So it is hard for reader focusing on LCD screen for a long time.Because e-ink can have almost the same effect as the real book, the reader can foucus on the screen for a long time easily.

Costs to purchase and use this technology For most of us, the e-ink is used in our e-paper. So what I show below, is the cost of most popular e-book now.

The future of this technology. Taking place of most real book.Compared with the real books, the devices with e-ink have these feature: Easy-carried, plenty of content and easy on the eyes. New kind of wallpaper.Because the effect of the e-ink have almost the same effect as the normal printed matter and it can change the content with only little energy.If we make it cover the wall as wallpaper, we can change the piture on the wall whenever we want. Use it in the clocks' screen.Most of us don't stick our eyes on the clock or watch every second.How abotut the clock only show the time when we want to know? It will definitely save much energy.
