HOW TO PAY FOR COLLEGE Scholarships (very competitive!) Grants Loans Work Study Employment Parents You can get help from the college financial aid office.

 Regents ◦ 4 yrs Language Arts ◦ 4 yrs of Math ◦ 3 yrs of Science (BIO, CHEM, PHYSICS) ◦ 3.5 yrs of Social Studies ◦ 2 yrs Foreign Language in 9-12 ◦ 3.0 GPA - $1,000 ◦ 3.5 GPA - % of tuition  New Century ◦ Associate’s Degree while in High School ◦ 3.0 GPA ◦ % tuition for bachelors 96% of students who qualify for the Regents scholarship finish a 4 year degree.

 #1 Don’t read instructions  #2 Miss the deadline  #3 Don’t turn application in  In 2009, 959 students were on track to receive the Regents Scholarship.  Only 650 received the scholarship!!!  1/3 of students did not follow the instructions.
