QCD and String Theory At short distances, must smaller than 1 fermi, the quark- antiquark potential is approximately Coulombic, due to the Asymptotic Freedom. Recently, the conjectured integrability and other constraints led to determination of the cusp anomaly function. This provides strong new evidence for the validity of the AdS/CFT duality.
