Purpose of Resume  You on paper  Separate you from competition  Contact information  Educational and work history  Highlight awards/recognitions  Include activities, community service, volunteer, accomplishments

Resume: Do’s  Type  Keep in a professional folder  Use professional paper and font  Use a professional template (don't try to wing it)  Check for spelling and grammar  Brag! Include all of your notable accomplishments  Separate sections by double space (but not every line)  Use action verbs

Resume: Don’ts  Handwrite anything  Print from your account  Use full sentences and periods  Use information from Elementary school or childhood  Include crazy images and colors  Make longer than 1 page (if possible)  Double space every line  Repeat information  Repeat key words  LIE or GUESS!
