As you may have heard (and done), the Learning Committee did a survey for the children of St. Mary’s. But this wasn’t just for the children, it was also for the staff and the governors as well! Altogether we have made a PowerPoint on what we collected on the survey. This will help both staff and children know what some people think about the 5R’s. Enjoy!

Some people answered with these replies to the question:  Every lesson/all the time  Working  When your stuck  Lessons: Literacy, Maths, PSHE ect.  When doing important work  Looking back Can you think of some others?

This will be in an order: In 5 th was Resourceful Squirrel 4 th was Reflective Owl 3 rd is Resilient Tortoise 2 nd was Responsible Dog 1 st was Ready Rabbit Can you think why Ready Rabbit was 1 st in the list?

This was the order again, Surprisingly, when we did the survey, nobody said they need to use squirrel more but in the question, Which one do you use the most, only 1 said they used it the most. So carrying on, 4 th, Resilient Tortoise 3 rd Ready Rabbit Joint 1 st, is the Reflective Owl and Responsible Dog. This was the order again, Surprisingly, when we did the survey, nobody said they need to use squirrel more but in the question, Which one do you use the most, only 1 said they used it the most. If you don’t know what benefits means the meaning of it is, a helpful effect or something intended to help. So again, were going in an order. In joint 3 th is Ready Rabbit and Reflective owl 2 nd is resilient and 1 st was Responsible Dog Again, nobody said Resourceful Squirrel Why do you think this happened? If you don’t know what benefits means the meaning of it is, a helpful effect or something intended to help. So again, were going in an order. In joint 3 th is Ready Rabbit and Reflective owl 2 nd is resilient and 1 st was Responsible Dog Again, nobody said Resourceful Squirrel Why do you think this happened?

There were : Respectful Reliable Risk There were some animals for some including: Fox, Lion, Elephant, Robin, Fish, Hound, Horse Can you think of any more?

This will be the teachers survey. We gave them to the teachers to answer and this is what we got from their answers. How does your class show their are Ready, Resilient, Reflective, Resourceful and Responsible? Good listening, Will try and try again, Think back to previous learning, know where resources are, being respectful and reflective, ect.

Most teachers said resilience as their no.1 choice and their reason is so they feel confident in learning and they will stick onto the work- no matter what. And, so now they are more resilient they do harder work and push themselves. The children don’t get upset as much any more.

Reflective- They are only young and this will develop as they get older. Readiness- In all aspects of learning. Responsibility- For their actions, their choices, their equipment and belongings and learning.

The 1 st question is When you have visited our school, what 5R’s learning skills have you seen children using? The governors said all the 5R’s except Resilient Tortoise because they didn’t have enough time in the class to see them be resilient because they had to work on it for a long period of time.

Most of them said Resilient because if the children keep trying they will win through in the end but if they give up no matter how resourceful, reflective and responsible they are, they will never succeed.
