Physical and Chemical Changes By Mark Becker

Physical change Is a change in size, shape, or state of matter that does not create a new kind of matter. Grinding, melting, dissolving, and evaporating are all examples of physical change.

Examples of physical changes: Ice melting to the heat Crushing paper with force.

Chemical change Is a change in matter that produces new kinds of matter with different properties. Decomposing, burning, and rusting are all examples of chemical change.

Examples of chemical changes: Diet soda with mentos. Burning paper with fire.

TAKE A GUESS: Is it a chemical or physical change TAKE A GUESS: Is it a chemical or physical change? -cracking eggs -Baking a cake -glass breaking -boiling water -lighting up a firework

Answers are: -cracking eggs (physical change) -Baking a cake (chemical change) -glass breaking (physical change) -boiling water (physical change) -lighting up a firework (chemical change)
