Presentation transcript:

AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) spread more rapidly as populations become more active by like moving around from place to place it seems to get worse and worse. Safe motherhood is nearly impossible especially in the early phases of an emergency, because people live in conditions of extreme dislocation, minimal shelter and food, poor sanitation, and physical danger could happen which means rape. When women and children move, they are often alone and powerless and thus at risk of becoming sexual prey. Unsafe abortions are common among refugees and internally displaced persons. Service providers can help avoid abortions by providing effective contraception and should be ready to deal with complications of unsafe abortion.

HIV can be sexually transmitted you might not even know you have it so always wear a condom If you are HIV positive, or have the HIV disease, its not the same as having AIDS. Many people are HIV- positive but don't get sick for many years. As HIV disease continues, it slowly wears down the immune system.

AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. If you get infected with HIV, your body will try to fight the infection. It will make "antibodies," special molecules to fight HIV.

Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs are infections that can be transferred from one person to another through any type of sexual contact. STDs are sometimes referred to as sexually transmitted infections or STIs since they involve the transmission of a disease from one person to another during sexual activity. It is important to realize that sexual contact includes more than just sexual intercourse. Its also Sexual contact includes kissing, oral- genital contact, and the use of sexual toys. STDs probably have been around for thousands of years, but the most dangerous of these conditions, AIDS, has only been recognized since 1984.
