Cantilever Racks Specifications Scope: This task requires the vendor to provide hardware materials for two types of double cantilever racks for use in a long-term (3 years) material creep test study. The racks shall “not” be utilized in a classic fashion where a distributed load is shared between two cantilevered arms. This request is for racks with uniquely “stiff” upper cantilever arms that can support relatively high tip loads. The first rack design shall be capable of supporting a tip load of 1700 lbs and have a height of 14 feet. The second rack design shall be capable of supporting a 4500 lb tip load and have a height of 20 feet. Additional design details are provided in figures 1-5. Associated bolts and washers shall be identified, however not supplied. Bolts shall be purchased separately from another vendor and submitted for certification through NASA LaRC Quality Assurance (QA) department. Vendor shall supply cantilevered arm design and load capability calculation. Pre-owned, used, refurbished, or new-cantilevered rack systems are admissible, as long as they meet load and height requirements. Rack dimensions, load capacity requirements, and application are provided in following slides. ITEM 1: Quantity 4 5-column type double cantilever rack hardware with dimensions as shown in following slides Anchor wedges shall not be utilized for 5-column type. Current setup location shall not allow anchor points to be drilled into the concrete floor. Please provide large enough base I-beams, and diagonal/horizontal bracing for rack stability to meet load requirements lbs max tip load 14-feet high Identify bolts and washers needed for assembly Written assembly procedures Cantilevered arm design calculations for load levels ITEM 2: Quantity 1 6-column type double cantilever rack hardware with dimensions as shown in following slides Anchor wedges shall be required for 6-column type Rack 4500 lbs max tip load 20-feet high Identify bolts and washers needed for assembly Written assembly procedures Cantilevered arm design calculations for load levels

Double Cantilever Rack 14.0 feet tall Cantilever Rack, 5-column type Deliverables : quantity: 4 double cantilevered racks, 14-feet tall Each rack shall consist of 5 columns, 10 cantilever arms, 10 support base beams, and bracing supports Identify required bolts/washers Assembly procedure Perspective view
