Welcome! WMS Band Boosters November 12, :00 PM Next Meeting: January 7

WMS Band Boosters  A parent organization that works to provide positive experiences for our children.

Band Officers  President (Xenia Del Cid)  Oversees both regular booster and board meetings. Conducts any communications between the board, the boosters, the band director, and the school administration.  Vice President (Barry Morgan)  Supports the President, carries out any duties that the President is unable to do, makes any arrangements necessary for off campus events.  Treasurer (Gina Overton)  Accepts any payments or fees, pay any invoices, deposits all monies, keeps a running tally of the organization’s account balance, adheres to budge, provides treasurer’s reports as requested by boosters, board, or band director  Secretary (Lashanda Morgan)  Keeps accurate record of the proceedings of the general membership and of the board meetings.

501(c)3 Status  Gives us the status to be a non-profit organization  Bylaws are ready to be signed.  New EIN number  Read through the 10 page Form 1023 – Need to write some essays!

Why Fundraising?  To provide students with new learning opportunities and experiences.  For Equipment  For Music  For Field Trips  For Functional Costs  To Repair Instruments We fundraise, so we do not have to have a membership fee!

Upcoming Fundraisers  Krispy Kreme: November 20  Volunteers Needed  Pick up doughnuts in Knightdale at 1:00 and deliver to school  3 Parents with their WMS student to collect money & provide doughnuts  Great American Opportunities: November 4-16  Help need November 20 to count money and separate orders  Band Discount Cards

Fundraisers Continued  Chick-fil-a Fundraiser  IHOP or Applebees Fundraiser  Zaxby’s and 50/50 Update

Band Events  Band Calendar is located on  December 1 – Uniform Check & Picture Day Concerts!  December 3 – 8 th Chorus, 7 th Band, & 8 th Band (Help with uniforms)  December 4 – Jazz Band at Evening with Santa  December 8 – 6 th Band and Jazz Band (Help with uniforms)  December 15 – 7 th Band at Knightdale Elementary and Forestville Rd Elementary  (Need 3 chaperones)  December 17 – 8 th Band at Carver Elementary and Wendell Elementary  (Need 3 chaperones)

Concert Gift?  Committee  Goal: Find a way to say “Congratulations!”  180 students

Advanced Groups’ Trips  MPA Band Festival in March: $800 Trip  About 50 select 7 th & 8 th grade band students  Busch Gardens Music Showcase Festival on May 14: $5975 Trip ($132 per student)  Students will be invited in February or March  Criteria for selection
