FOA Part B: A Regional Network for Ebola Patient Care June 12: ASPR announced selection of 9 Regional Ebola and Other Special Pathogen Treatment Centers ASPR/HPP will initially provide $20 million this year, and an additional $9 million over the next four years to sustain the facilities’ readiness Each Regional Center will receive $3.25 million over the full five-year project period 4

NETEC Provides Support for Ebola Preparedness July 1: ASPR and CDC announced the establishment of the National Ebola Training and Education Center (NETEC) ASPR and CDC will provide $12 million over the next 5 years to support NETEC 6  NETEC is comprised of hospitals that have successfully evaluated and treated patients with Ebola in the U.S.

Health Care Preparedness: Past, Present, and Future 7 Past (CDC Contract) Since Dec. 2014, Emory and Nebraska have provided training to 860+ health care workers from 87 health care systems, including 37 designated ETCs and additional assessment hospitals Training covered all aspects of infection control and patient care for individuals with suspected or confirmed Ebola virus disease Future (NETEC) Over the next 5 years, NETEC will offer Regional ETCs, state ETCs or assessment hospitals, and state and local health departments support in enhancing their capabilities Support includes expertise, education, training, technical assistance, peer review assessments, and recognition reporting

In-person didactic and collaborative training courses In-person skills courses Available resources on the website for facilities and coalitions to use and enhance their own training and education materialswww.netec.org Robust Learning Management System, allowing facilities and healthcare workers free access to courses specifically tailored to their needs Exercise templates for coalitions, facilities and front line healthcare workers to utilize What Resources are Available for My Facility?

Infrastructure to increase collaboration between facilities, public health departments and the federal government on a local, state, regional, and national level Educational and exercise content and materials not only enhance facility and public health readiness, but also to assist with reporting deliverables back to ASPR as it aligns with the Healthcare Preparedness Program funding Outside of individual travel expenses to in-person training sessions, all NETEC resources are provided for FREE What Other Benefits does Offer?

How Can Support My Facility? Annual site assessments for each of the 10 Regional Ebola Treatment Centers 1 state visit during the 5 year program to assist state treatment centers and assessment facilities Access to a wide range of subject matter experts from all 3 institutions. Experts have content knowledge in clinical care to infection control, workflow, special populations, healthcare worker monitoring, PPE to waste management and much more Subject matter experts have all had direct experience in successfully caring for patients with Ebola virus disease and have real-world knowledge, tools, and expertise to share
