My catapult By: Marshall Lockyer

My design I made my own design after trying other designs. I made this one as the other design would stop the bar before it would release the ball

Why I chose this project I chose this project because I wanted something that was fun, challenging but not to difficult.

Some challenges Getting the right design Not giving it to my dad so he could do it for me. Finding a way to make it more powerful

Way I solved these challenges I tinkered with the design and made adjustments Not asking for unnecessary help Adding things to make it go farther.

How I came up with the design I came up with the design when I decided I wanted to make my own unique design that was not one I found on the internet so that is why it looks odd and looks like it wont go far.

Unfortunate disasters Some bad things that happened were catapults breaking. ( I made 3 after the first one broke and the second one would not shoot) The cup that held the ball broke yesterday Not being able to put a video of it shooting on this power point.

What it shoots It can shoot multiple things like tennis balls, golf balls if you really wanted to, and other small items

How it works It works when I pull back on the thing that will release the item, then I let go and most of the time it will work

What was the goal of the project The goal of the project was to design a catapult that would shoot a tennis ball and test more than 1 design as I tested three.

How long it took me to make It took me about 4 hours to make it. It took this time because I was experimenting with the design. I also have to add 2 more hours on to that due to repairs. So it took about 5 hours.

Video of shooting. I will put in this video because I can not bring it to school because I take the bus. (on the wiki)
