Genetics- the science of heredity, study of genes Allele- any of several forms of a gene (a single letter) Dominant- the allele that ‘masks’ the recessive allele Recessive- the allele that is ‘masked’
Trait- an inherited characteristic Monohybrid Cross- a genetic cross made to examine the distribution of one specific set of alleles in the resulting offspring. Genotype- the genetic makeup of an organism or group of organisms with reference to a single trait, set of traits, or an entire complex of traits. Phenotype- the appearance of an organism resulting from the interaction of the genotype and the environment.
